The experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of various process parameters in rotary degassing of aluminum alloy AS5U3G. Degassing was carried out by use of argon inert gas. The flow rate of the gas was investigated in the range of (8-12L/min), rotor speed (350-500 RPM), degassing time (8-12 min) and the melt temperature (755-780 deg C). Degassing efficiency was evaluated through measuring the density of RPT samples. By optimizing the process parameters, RPT sample density was increased up to 2.73 g/cm~3, which guaranties the production of high-quality aluminum castings. Tensile strength and elongation were increased considerably by the degassing process. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows small size and well distributed microporosity.
