On-farm clinical trials using obsetver-based behavioral measurements may be scrutinized if observer agreement assessment is not included in the trial design. How reliably a category of behavior is measured is influenced by observer practice and experience, frequency of occurrence of the behavior, observer fatigue and the adequacy of the behaviot definition.1 The objective of this study was to evaluate the agreement within and between two observers assigning scores related to piglet pain behavior indicators. This study was a component of a larger on-farm clinical trial.
