CARBON DIOXIDE FLUXES OVER A TALLGRASS PRAIRIE IN CENTRAL TEXAS

This site was a C sink for three of the four years after the fire. The magnitude of this sink was dependent upon precipitation amount and distribution. The long duration since this prairie had been burned (> 50 years) and the lack of grazing by large herbivores may have accentuated the response to fire of this grassland, especially in the first year.
