Virus removal membrane filters has been developed for the purpose of virus removal during the purification of bio-pharmaceutical and plasma-derived protein products manufacture. The finely designed membrane structure enabled both to remove viruses to a significant degree (<10~(-4)) and to pass through large molecular size protein higher than 95%. It enables multi-step filtration of virus contaminating protein solution, and it gives excellent virus removal performance whereas bio-pharmaceutical protein can pass through without significant loss.
