During last years the use of probiotics in pig production has become an alternative to the wide use of antimicrobials as growth promoters (1). Most of the investigations concern the use of probiotics in weaners (3,4). The purpose of the present studywas to asses the effect of Toyocerin a probiotic containing Bacillus toyoi spores on the health status and performance of sows and their litters.
