Previous work has demonstrated that tilmicosin has a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC_(50)) of < 0.5 mu g/mL against Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (MH). The purpose of this study was to explain the efficacy of tilmicosin on MH in swine by comparing tilmicosin steady state concentrations in various tissues and fluids where MH are know to reside with the tilmicosin MIC data for this organism.
