COMPARATIVE PREGNANCY DIAGNOSIS BY ULTRASONOGRAPHY AT DIFFERENT DAYS POST-MATING

摘要

On commercial swine farms the most common strategy for the identification of pregnancy is by the detection of estrus via daily boar exposure from day 21 ±3 post-mating. The real-time ultrasonography (RTU) has become a powerful tool for pregnancy diagnosis and offers an early and accurate diagnosis of gestation in swine production. The aim of this paper is to study the efficiency of pregnancy diagnosis by RTU in different periods of gestation, between day 17 to day 24 post mating under commercial conditions.
