摘要

This paper describes the results of scaled tests performed to evaluate the mobilization of sediments by shrouded axial impeller mixers. The mixers could be continuously or discretely rotated about the axis of installation to direct the flow in different directions within the tank. Flow from one mixer could augment that from another to increase effectiveness in regions of sediment accumulation. The preferred method for obtaining the greatest level of particle mobilization and retrieval was evaluated. Strategies were developed to maximize the sediment retrieved and minimize pump-down cycles. A recommended procedure for strategically repositioning the mixers during tank retrieval is provided.
