In a paper development of cavitation erosion prediction method in hydraulic machines is presented. On single hydrofoil and on a blade of a radial pump, visual and cavitation erosion effects were investigated. A new method of cavitation erosion evaluation is presented, i.e. a computer-aided visualization method with which cavitation structures above single hydrofoil in a cavitation tunnel and above blade of pump n{sub}q 32 were analysed. An empirical model was developed, connecting intensity of cavitation erosion with cavitation structure kinematics above the surface of immersed body. The study is a part of EU 5th Framework project "Cavismonitor".
