It is reported that some bacteria are capable of influencing electrochemical processes on the metal surface, often leading to deterioration of metals referred to as MIC (microbiologically influenced corrosion). Serious filter plug occurred on two stations of some petroleum pipeline. One kind of epiphytes was separated from the corrosion products which were obtained in pipeline filter net in these two stations. Microbial morphologies of the epiphyte were observed under biological microscope. The behaviors of steel X60, X70 in controlled microcosms were investigated with anodic polarization.
