摘要

Immersion in simulated body fluid (SBF) is gold standard method to evaluate the bioactivity of ceramics in vitro. Apatite forming ability in SBF, which has almost equal ion concentrations and pH to those of the human body fluid, is believed to be an essential condition to induce bone ingrowth in viva. However, the correlations between in viva binactivity and apatite forming ability in SBF has not been well recognized. And there were no comparative study concerning about the relations between in viva binactivity and in vitro bioactivity systematically. In the current study, we compared in viva bone ingrowth behavior with in vitro apatite forming ability using various compositions of Na{sub}2O-CaO-SiO{sub}2 glass system.
