Seismic performance of a reinforced concrete arch bridge with span length of 150 m is clarified based on a series of nonlinear dynamic response analyses. Since the axial force and bending moment interaction is significant in the arch rib under an extreme earthquake excitation, it is included in the analyses by a fiber element. It is found from the analyses that flexural yielding occurs in the arch rib, and that the maximum bending moment was 36% larger and the maximum curvature was 30% smaller at a springing by taking the axial force and bending moment interaction into account. It is also found that a brittle failure is likely to occur in the arch rib due to high axial force.
