摘要

Effects of near source earthquakes and subsoil on the pounding behaviour of buildings are presented. Both subsoil and long-period pulses in the ground excitation can amplify the pounding potential of buildings. Poundings additionally excite the higher vibration modes of the buildings. Consequently, induced vibrations in the buildings will have higher frequency content. The soil-structure interaction has a reduction effect on the induced vibrations. In order to estimate the necessary separation distance between buildings a consideration of the effect of soil-structure interaction is needed.
