摘要

The evaluation of seismic vulnerability as a part of seismic risk analysis is an important problem in many countries. The classical methodology for seismic vulnerability analysis has been formulated with statistical criteria based on a rapid and extensive survey. The whole information concerning the buildings is statistically elaborated. The element of the methodology is the relationship between damage and macroseismic intensity. Macroseismic intensity is defined by a description of damage scenarios. Following the standard modes of vulnerability analysis the first step is to identify the structure typologies. Methodology for evaluation of vulnerability of buildings in a given region in terms of assignment of the vulnerability classes according the new EMS 98 scale is presented. The methodology is applied for vulnerability analysis on surveyed buildings in Potenza region - Italy. The main results of this case study are the graphics, where are shown the relationships between different damage grades and intensity of some type of buildings.
