Recently, linear DC motors (LDM) have been widely used in the field of office automation and factory automation. This paper will cover the mutual induction circuit of LDM's, which considers the eddy current generated in a short-circuit ring. Through experiments, the validity of the mutual induction circuit was confirmed. The calculated value corresponded to the measured value very well, and the maximum error was 1.6 mA (6% at the 15 ms). Therefore, the effects of the short-circuit ring are clear.
