In this work a theoret, ical thermodynamic study of a Stirling engine achieved by optical fibres is carried out. We show a thermodynamic optimization for a solar mini-dish/Stirling system. Such an optimization arises because solar collector efficiency decreases, whereas heat engine efficiency increases, with increasing solar collector temperature. Through the model proposed by Curzon and Ahlborn, we analyze an absorber-heater for the solar heat engine to ensure reducing the heat losses. The optimal operating temperature and the overall efficiency of the system are established.
