(1) Japan started to use HSS some 40 years ago and the current demand account for 10 percent of the total stainless steel sheet consumption, (2) Value-addition and combined attributes has expanded HSS applications in Japan.(3) More applications are developed recently with new/improved properties coupled with anti-corrosion and high strength of HSS.(4) The future key words are environment and IT.
