RMI BASED DISTRIBUTED MODEL FOR MEDIA ON DEMAND

摘要

The main objective of this paper is to construct a distributed model through which the media on demand can be presented. A single-server/multi-client architecture has been proposed which enables the clients to access the remote server at anytime for the required media. A Remote Method Invocation (RMI) based distributed model has been developed in such a way that for every request from the client for a media clip, the server marshalls the data to the client. The media server creates a new thread of control for every request and hence a complete distributed environment has been explored.
