A Genetic Algorithm for Medical Image Registration

In this paper we present a technique for volume matching of images in three dimensions. We are given two or more data set in 3-space, each represented the same object; the goal is to find not a simply rigid motion, but a 3D linear elastic transformation model to generate a non rigid deformation in order to overlap one image on the target image; this is obtained by means morphing function and genetic algorithms.
