A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE MODE IN PEAK-CURRENT-CONTROLLED DC/DC CONVERTERS

This paper presents a discussion of the highlighted failure mode for an example converter family. The purpose of the paper is chiefly to bring this failure mode to the attention of users and designers. The use of conductance control avoids the failure mode, albeit with a small penalty in simplicity of implementation.
