Comparative analysis of characteristics of defects, bound states of topological defects and spatio-temporal chaos caused by their interaction is presented for the structures arising at a Benard-Marangoni convection and at a parametric excitation of capillary waves on the free surface of liquid. Analogy between dynamics of defects in spatially periodic hydrodynamical systems and dynamics of defects in crystals is presented.
