In the paper are presented new algorithms for image compression with adaptation of the Inverse Difference Pyramidal decomposition. These algorithms are based on the criterion for the mean square error (MSE) in dependence on the number of pyramid levels, the number and position of the selected spectral coefficients and the quality of the restored image. In the paper are given some experimental results too.
