Since the Cathode-Ray-Tube (CRT) Projection Display consists of three CRT, such as Red, Green and Blue; they have to converge on screen. It is operated by convergence amplifier and convergence output. Until now, convergence amplifier is consisted of amplifier that is associated with power transistors. Since these amplifiers are class A or AB type, huge heat sinks are necessary due to the high temperature. Also, the efficiency is too low about fewer than 50%. In this paper, alternative class D type amplifier has been suggested to overcome the problems mentioned above. The pulse width modulated class D amplifier has the highest efficiency among various class amplifiers. The amplifier consists of a half-bridge MOSFET device with appropriate driver, an output filter and a modulator. Proposed controller and filter convergence class D type amplifier will be presented with simulation and experiment results.
