AUTOMATED DNA FRACTION COLLECTION ON GLASS MICROCHIPS

We have developed a glass microchip capable of automation and integration of all steps required for DNA fraction collection, and which also integrates the downstream mixing of reagents needed for cloning the collected DNA. Out of five different samples, the device allows us to collect five different fragments, which can be used for further investigation. A fraction can be selectively collected from a mixture of samples without any detectable impurities in less than 70 seconds. Also, we describe multiple methods to evaluate the concentrations and purity levels of collected fractions.
