The enveloping theory of the LogiX gear tooth profile is developed based on the kinematics theory of gear machining. The theoretic analysis of hobbing this specific gear tooth profile is given whose convex profile being enveloped by the lines, and the concave profile being enveloped by the circles. Then the new kind of machining method of the covex/concave tooth profile of the LogiX gear generated by the single tooth hob is given out. By means of the flexibility between the CNC hobbing machine and the workpiece, a new kind of all-purpose machining tool which is based on the standard machining tool and has the simple structure and the low cost is developed. The flexible controlling mathematic model to generate the LogiX gear tooth profile is deduced. The theory and the model to machine the concave tooth profile by the all-purpose machining tool are provided for the first time. At the same time, the generating controlling software is open up, the efficient and flexible generating of the LogiX gear tooth profile by means of the flexible CNC controlling is achieved. At last the machining process according to the model is simulated in computer and the result shows that it is right and feasible. So the foundation is laid for developing new technologies of the generation of specific gear tooth profiles and for intelligent and automated design of CNC hob with multi-coordinate.
