A PROCEDURE OF RECOGNITION AND ITS APPLICATION TO CHOICE OF SEVERE DISEASE TREATMENT

A procedure of recognition and classification is developed to be of use for choosing optimal treatment method for particular patient of a severe disease (cancer, for example). The central idea is that for each patient conditional survive function for each mode of treatment is estimated an the optimal mode may be defined as the one providing higher predicted survival. Also, the procedure for respective validation of the proposed method is given. The usefulness of the proposed approach is illustrated with the application to real treatment data. The result suggests that the choice of optimal treatment is of considerable promise for practical use.
