摘要

While screening various inhibitors of advanced glycation endproduct formation in collagen incubated with glucose, we used aminoguanidine (AMG) as reference inhibitor at different concentrations. Whereas at concentrations higher than 18 mM, AMG reduced pentosidine formation as expected, at lower concentrations, it significantly increased pentosidine content. This observation was confirmed in different experiments.
