Deposit account is a demand, time, savings, and passbook or similar account maintained with a financial like organization. The e-Deposit is a deposit that is managed in electronic form. The e-Deposit is appropriate for use at universities. Considering the functionality and security, the system is implemented in three-layer architecture that consists of Presentation Layer, Business Layer, and Data Layer. The data integrity is secured due to the extensive exchange of financial information over the Internet. The employed security in the e-deposit solution implies Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Firewall Security and around the clock Audit logs. The Business and Data Access Tier are implemented in a modular manner. It contributes to the robustness of the application and reduces the risk of unwanted behavior. This implementation uses a relational database schema that is separate from the university's information system database. Special adapters enable integration of an e-commerce scenario in existing university information system. The independence of these two systems can improve the overall scalability - as long as one maintains and manages to scale the interface to the university's information system within the same scale factor.
