WEAKNESS AND HARMFUL IMPACTS OF INTERNET IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION

In this age of knowledge and information technology, the Internet can play a great role to evolve the education process and has a tremendous potential for both students and academic staff. The Internet facilitates the searching and accessing of information on different areas of knowledge, it helps the people and organizations to publish or present their research and information easily. It facilitates connection, discussion, and cooperation between researchers or other users in different institutions, which leads to improve their researches and knowledge. Although the Internet has this important and effective usage in education but it has some drawbacks and harmful impact, which affected its great role. These drawbacks and harmful impacts include: slow of accessing the required information, existence of not trusted information, existence of harmful information, the bad impact on ethical and religious concerns, changing or missing the URLs that holds the information, wasting the students time in games and other useless things, reduction of student activity by offering a ready solutions for the courses exercises and assignments. This paper proposes a framework solution to overcome such drawbacks and harmful impact, which leads to improve the Internet usage and consequently improving the education process.
