The Comparative Study on the Origin and the Mentality of Gridiron City in the East and the West

摘要

In the thesis, we focus on gridiron cities that have been formed and constructed under what kind of circumstances through the East and the West for a long time, and we revolve around the co-relational comparative study between the homogeneity and the heterogeneity showed in the intrinsic symbolic meanings and spatial applying methods. In this study, when we see formatively, by looking around how the Eastern and the Western gridiron cities with the close similarities make their first appearance, and what mental difference is, we intend to make interrelationship closely.
