Bioarchitecture: an experimental project for the air conditioning of an industrial shed with a solar array system

摘要

The objective of this research is to verify the possibility of achieving thermal comfort throughout the year in large industrial infrastructures through the utilisation of solar thermal energy. In order to investigate this bioclimatic performance, an experiment on an industrial shed, having an area of 1000 m{sup}2 and height of 5 m, was carried out. The main thing that sets this research apart from others is that the emphasis in on employing a solar array system in order to achieve natural cooling during the summer and ambient heating during the winter, in those industrial infrastructures whose dimensions tend to elongate horizontally rather than vertically.
