This overview paper discusses the main findings of the IPCC-TAR report on non-C02 greenhouse gases, and describes feed-back effects on their concentrations resulting from atmospheric chemistry. Future emission scenarios used in the IPCC-TAR are discussed, and the corresponding model results described. Many results and simplifications were made by IPCC-TAR in the modeling of future atmospheric chemistry, e.g. the coupling between increase of greenhouse gases, climate change, eco-system responses, and the resulting influence on the atmospheric composition was not considered. An important issue is the interaction of climate change and air-pollution, for which we discuss some examples. We end with the description of an integrated assessment concept that considers technical and non-technical measures.
