This study is intended to provide useful information for the design and management of effective workplaces by evaluating existing office environments. The function of furniture, workplace location, and suitability to work are significant factors determining personal workplace satisfaction. The analysis identified that the open floor plan of a work environment, over time, is a source of noise problems and deprives office workers of privacy and personalized space. Respondents replied that meeting spaces are few and small, and they lack privacy and quality. Privacy, comfortable chairs and storage spaces are factors important for personal workspace satisfaction. In order to improve the quality and efficiency of work this study proposes that companies should provide ergonomic office furniture and facilities and hire professional facility managers.
