Tropical Atmospheric Boundary Layer Experiment during the North-East Monsoon (NE-TBLE): Observations and Preliminary Analysis

Due to the lack of detail observations, the Tropical Boundary Layer Experiment (TBLE) during the Northeast monsoon was conceived to collect data on the evolution of the tropical atmospheric boundary layer. The TBLE was conceived to collect data on the evolution of the tropical atmospheric boundary layer. This paper presents the main observations of the TBLE, which has been carried out during January 24th to30th, 2000 at University Malaya campus. Using slow rise radiosonde ascent of about 3 m/sec, an intensive four hourly observation during cloudy period and an intensive two hourly ascents during a clear day were made. The TABL will be analyzed using the radiosonde measurements, to characterize the, diurnal and nocturnal, evolution.
