IMPORTANCE OF AREA AND LOCATION OF MOLASSES DRAINAGE HOLES IN BASKET OF CONTINUOUS CENTRIFUGAL MACHINES

Centrifuging of massecuite in a continuous machine is an important operation .There are many fine features in the equipments, which can change the entire operational efficiency and performance of a continuous machine. Capacity of a continuous machine depends upon many factors like massecuite purity and its quality, curing temperature of massecuite, crystal size, screening area of basket, open area of screen, gravity factor, wash water and steam used, load on centrifugal etc. It has been concluded after modification in baskets of DC-12 and SC-1350 KT, that area of molasses passage holes and their location play very important role in enhancing the qapacity of a continuous machine as well as product quality and to reduce sugar loss in molasses.
