In this study, the sensible heat fin efficiency for cross-finned tube heat exchangers with plane fins which are used in air conditioning appliances mainly was investigated. The fin efficiency of single row various fin shapes were calculated and compared with Schmidt's formula. Consequently, the calculated results were less than Schmidt's formula within 10% because of a difference of rows. The modification of this formula agreed with calculation within 5% is suggested. Moreover, an effect of the temperature difference between super heated and condensation region on the fin efficiency was investigated. As it turned out the estimate expression used by the difference between inlet air, condensation and super heated temperature was suggested.
