In this study, the specific heat of water included in an adsorbent was analyzed by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in the temperature range from -80 to 0°C. Two types of silica gel with different adsorption characteristics for water vapor were employed and the experiment were performed with various mass ratio of water to silica gel. As a result, in the region under 6% of water mass ratio, the mean specific heat of the silica gel adsorbing water was smaller than that of the dry silica gel. In the region over 6% of water mass ratio, the mean specific heat increased with increasing the water mass ratio.
