摘要

The design of a "heat sink with fan" of a desk-top personal computer was optimized by using the commercial heat-transfer and fluid-flow analytical code Icepak. First, the distance between the motherboard and the upper plate was fixed to 53 mm, the outer area of the CPU was set to 10×10 mm, the heat-sink size was set to 60×60 mm, and the cooling-fan size was set to 60×60×15 mm. These settings were used to optimize the thickness of the heat-sink base to 3-5 mm, the height of the heat sink to 15 mm, and the distance between the cooling fan and the upper plate to 7-8 mm.
