This paper presents the characteristics of heat transfer of a flexible loop heat pipe (FLHP) with stainless steel porous wick and working fluid of ammonia. The core of evaporator is used as liquid reservoir to enhance operation reliability of FLHP. Pore diameter of the wick was 1.6μ m. The heat transport characteristics of FLHP were examined by experiments under 1-g gravity and simulations. The FLHP showed good temperature control ability in the range of 100 to 370W heat transfer rate, and the simulation results of FLHP approximated to the experimental results.
