Characteristics of liquid-liquid two-phase flow through porous media are important in a large range of applications, i.e., CO{sub}2 underground disposal. It was found that permeability of porous media drastically changes in the case that water flows into the silicone-oil phase as compared with the case that single water phase flows. It was elucidated by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique that silicone-oil remains inside the porous media, which leads to the reduction of the permeability. The result of these measurements shows that the reductions of permeability are caused by not only the decrease of porosity but also the change of the network structure of the fluid.
