摘要

In this paper, a VSI based series connected converter will be investigated as a reactive power compensator, and detailed control system design will be presented. In the proposed system, compensator is controlled as a sinusoidal current source whose template is generated by simple control loops. In the proposed control system, there is no need for the axis transformations, likeα-β or d-q, and also for reactive power calculation. This reduces the complexity and also results in good response characteristics.
