Loss balancing in three-level voltage source inverters applying active NPC switches

摘要

This paper investigates the use of active neutral point clamp switches in the three-level NPC voltage source inverter to balance the losses among the semiconductors. Both control structure and algorithm are proposed which enable a substantially increased output power of the inverter and an improved performance at zero speed.
