Characteristic spectral image provided by wavelength-differential imaging system

Wavelength-differential imaging system has been developed, which can give 2-dimensional distribution showing specific spectrum characteristic of an object conveniently. The wavelength-differential imaging system consists of a variable interferometer, imager and image processing system. A wavelength-differential image is obtained by subtracting two images through the variable interferometer with different transmission spectra. Some examples of the wavelength-differential images, blood stream of human body in visible light region and butane gas flow in air in infrared region have been demonstrated. In those cases, the images have given specific spectrum characteristics that have not been obtained from normal images.
