An Enterprise e-Tax Solution

摘要

This paper describes how state-of-the-art technologies have been adopted and applied to a large-scale, mission-critical financial system. These technologies include an e-business framework, a component-based design and programming model, Extended Markup Language (XML), asynchronous/synchronous messaging, and distributed computing technology based on Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB). The project represents one of the first application systems of such scale that fully leverages these technologies for its design and development, and in doing so completely changes the traditional programming model used in legacy systems for years. The e-Tax system demonstrates the potential of Web technology and distributed computing to become a mainstream model for mission-critical application development. This article will describe the development of the e-Tax system from the perspectives of the e-business framework, the programming model, and the application architecture.
