Linear axes are key components of CNC machine tools and coordinate measuring machines, of which the accuracy plays a very important role on the machining and measuring performance. The geometric error is one of the most important factors that seriously deteriorates the system accuracy of a linear axis [1]. The measurement and identification of geometric errors are indispensable for the manufacturing of a precision linear axis.
