Slot die, processing advantages on thin gauge films

The inherent advantages of the pre-metered precision slot die coating method are being realized as evidenced by an increasing number of conversions from other methods: reverse roll, knife over roll and mayer rod, etc. Improved coat weight application control results in material savings and allows for down gauging of the functional coatings with increases in productivity and quality. This paper will present a look at the precision dies that are used for these applications and a few examples of successful conversion to slot die coating.
