The cold rolling mill is one of the most widely used rolling equipments. The five-high rolling mill is the basis and the most important equipment of the cold rolling mill. Functions and precision management can ensure the five-high rolling mill's normal production. So, functions and precision of the five-high rolling mill are classified and the relationships between them are introduced in this article. The article detailed introduces five-high rolling mill's drive function, shape control function, thickness control function and rolling force control function. The functions and precision management of cold rolling mill equipment are reviewed too. At last a practical case shows, take functions and precision management on large and key equipment in cold-rolled sheet plant can reduce the failure rate, improve the products' quality and competitiveness.
