Cost-Efectiveness and Optimization in Condition Based Maintenance Strategies

摘要

This paper presents a simple cost-effectiveness analysis cycle to optimise maintenance by following a systematic procedure in order to understand the potential applicability and benefits of new technologies within a particular organization. This systematic procedure naturally leads to a cyclical, continuous improvement methodology to reach excellence. The improvement model presented is based on different analysis tools that are applied in a structured way, following a Pareto principle to focuses in the most important problems and improvement technologies, and paying a special attention to the results obtained after the incorporation of the new improvements, from first simulation to full implementation. Last, it specially focuses on technologies and strategies more related to CBM and predictive approaches.
