摘要

Free-electron-laser (FEL) beam propagation can be described by time-dependent Schriodinger-type equations. These can be solved efficiently by expanding the solutions on a finite basis. For strongly time-dependent problems a set of complex static vectors is proposed as a natural basis. By taking advantage of this optimal basis expansion, a simplified bidimensional FEL model is solved. Guiding and multifrequency phenomena are simulated by using this technique.
