The realization of the zinc fixed-point by radiation thermometry has been accomplished at NIM, using a blackbody crucible with cylinder-conical cavity (10 mm in inner diameter and 80 mm in length). The whole measurement is made at the wavelength of 1000 nm by means of a radiation thermometer with a silicon photodiode detector. The depression of the zinc freezing point has been estimated using perfect solution theory. The expanded uncertainty of the zinc fixed-point realization is estimated to be 0.17°C(p=0.95, k=2.16, v=13).
